Soul searching, dedicated to George Floyd
$650.00 USD
This artwork is inspired by thoughts of George Floyd's daughter, this time of universal soul-searching, and an exploration of the ideas of light and dark as expressed in Morgan Harper Nichols’s poem "Engage in the long, faithful work”.
Here is Morgan's description of darkness:
"And as you lean into Light,
be gentle with the word “darkness.”
For more than it merely means wrong or bad,
it is also the color of a full, starless night sky,
and actual bodies
of human beings
who have been overlooked
too many times.” -
This night is host to millions of stars, and the stars illuminate the glory of the darkness. We’re all in this together.
Mixed media shadowbox, 8"x12"x3".
