Meghan Purcell, "Duality," 2020
$2,000.00 USD
Meghan Purcell's 'Duality' is a striking work of art, taking the traditional idea of a mountainscape and viewing it through the unique lens of an age-old craft tradition.
Through the ancient technique of wool felting, Meghan Purcell explores ideas of genuine connection, sustainability, and the integrity of the human hand in an industrialized society. From sourcing wool locally, to assisting with sheep shearing and felting each piece entirely by hand, every step of the process is highly intentional.
Meghan works with 100% locally-sourced wool from Wolf Ridge Icelandics, a sheep farm nestled just to the south of Livingston, in the heart of Paradise Valley, Montana. She feels privileged to be able to work in partnership with local farmers and a sustainable, community-minded, and environmentally responsible local farm.
